We know they all have different responsibilities and that they work together to make our country great.


Now there's only one more thing you need to know!

If your answer was checks & balances, you're correct!! Look at the picture above. This shows the balance of power that each branch has over the others so that one is no more powerful than the next.

This is also called separation of powers.
The checks are controls (or powers) that each branch has over another.
This means that they are all given an equal amount of power, and makes sure that none of our country's leaders become too greedy or selfish.
